Compare surveys and export results

One PSindex® survey is a snapshot. Two are a trend. Compare a re-test against its predecessor, then export whatever your stakeholders need.

Before you start

You need the admin role and at least one completed survey in the organization. Results and exports are admin-only.

Run a re-test

Create the re-test like any survey, see Create your first PSindex survey, and add it to the same series as the original. Keep the participant attributes consistent between rounds, or the comparison groups won’t line up.

Track the trend across surveys

The PSindex® home opens on your organization’s trajectory, so you don’t have to assemble it yourself:

• Your Latest score, where it sits against the benchmark, and your All-time high.
• A trend line across every survey that has results.
• Your surveys, each row leading with its score and its movement from the survey before it.

Put surveys in a series

Surveys compare through a series: a line of surveys of the same group over time, such as each year’s all-company survey. The trend chart, the Compare to options, and the movement figures all follow series membership.

• On a new survey, use Add to series during setup.
• On an existing survey, open Settings and choose its Series.
• On the PSindex® home, you can also Move to series, Remove from series, or start a New series.

Only surveys of the same survey type can share a series, since different types score on different scales. Surveys that group teams by different attributes can still share one.

Compare two surveys

On the heatmap, choose an earlier, closed survey in the same series under Compare to. The heatmap shows movement since then. Choose No comparison to switch it off. The first survey in a series has nothing to compare against, so it shows no Compare to. See Read the heatmap.

If the earlier survey grouped teams by a different attribute, a note beside Compare to says team-level changes may be unavailable. Overall movement still shows.

For a question-by-question comparison, open a group’s report and select Classic report. The report gains a Trend column against the previous survey in the series. Hover a question’s trend to read the previous and current scores behind it.

Read movement against participation. A score that dropped in a group where twice as many people responded may simply be more honest.

Export results

• Heatmap in Download heatmap (CSV), below the grid. The file matches your current grouping, filters, and sort, so set the view first. It always covers every group, not just the page on screen.
• Team report in Download PDF, from an open report panel. See Open a team report.
• Comments in Download comments (CSV), also from an open report panel. Verbatims are where the numbers get explained, so treat them with the same confidentiality as scores. See Read the qualitative responses.
• Participants in Export Participants, from the participants view. This is the roster with completion status, useful for reconciliation and follow-up lists.

Close the loop

Exports leave the platform’s access controls behind, so scrub small groups before wide distribution. To let someone explore results in the platform without admin rights, see Share survey results.
