Read the heatmap

The heatmap is the primary results view for a PSindex® survey. One glance shows which parts of the organization feel safe and which don’t.

Before you start

You need the admin role. Open the survey and go to Results. Participants never see scores — results are admin-only.

How the grid is laid out

• Rows are participant segments — however you’ve sliced the population. See Segment, filter, and save views.
• Columns are the overall PSindex Score, each scale of the model, and Participation. Expand a scale to see its sub-scale questions.
• Cells are color-coded scores. Hover any score for a tooltip that breaks responses into Blue Zone, Neutral Zone, and Red Zone, plus the participation count behind the number.

Zones, in one line each

• Blue Zone — people agree; safety is felt here.
• Neutral Zone — people are hedging. Neutral is not fine; it’s undecided.
• Red Zone — people disagree. This is where the work is.

A decent average can hide a meaningful red minority, so read the zone breakdown, not just the score.

Tune what you see

• Color Sensitivity — a slider that widens or narrows the color scale. Tighten it to make small differences pop in a high-scoring org; loosen it to see only the big contrasts.
• Show Deltas — replaces raw context with each segment’s difference from the overall score. The fastest way to find outliers.

Small segments are hidden

Segments with fewer responses than the survey’s response-count threshold (default 3) don’t render. That’s confidentiality by design — nobody should be able to deduce an individual’s answers. If a row is missing, broaden the segment.
