Use the learner toolkit

Work a real decision, change plan, team diagnosis, coaching matrix, or AI pilot through a skill's toolkit.

Last updated October 13, 2026

A toolkit turns a course framework into a working tool. Instead of rereading your notes, you apply the model to a real situation: an actual decision, a live change, your own team.

Before you start

  • Each toolkit belongs to a skill. Open Learn → Skills, select Open skill, and find the Toolkit card under Ways to improve this skill.
  • A toolkit comes with the course that teaches it. You need a seat in that course, and the toolkit opens once you’ve worked through the tool once inside the course. Until then the card reads You’ll unlock this in the course and links you to where to pick up. See Start an on-demand course.
  • The toolkit stays open as long as your seat in the course does.

The toolkits

  • Decision Making: work a decision through the DECIDER™ model. Frame the problem, build your options and criteria, decide, and commit to an execution plan. Your decisions are saved as a portfolio you can return to.
  • Change Management: build an EPIC change plan across its four phases: evaluate, prepare, implement, and consolidate.
  • Team Performance: diagnose a team by examining its inputs, processes, and outputs, then target where performance is breaking down.
  • Coaching: apply the Coaching & Accountability Matrix™ to your direct reports to diagnose where accountability is stuck and choose the right coaching posture.
  • AI Leadership: map your workflows with AI, pick a pilot, and build its 90-day plan, following Leading Through AI™.

Skills without a toolkit, such as Emotional Intelligence, don’t show the card.

Work a tool

  1. On the skill page, select Open toolkit.
  2. Start a new item (a decision, a plan, a diagnosis) and name the real situation you’re working.
  3. Move through the tool’s steps in order. Your work saves as you go, so you can build a plan across several sittings.
  4. Finish with the summary. That’s the artifact you take back to your team.

Pair the tool with resources

Each skill page lists related guides and templates from the Resource Center under Reference. See Find guides, templates, and downloads.
