Segment, filter, and save views

The overall PSindex® score tells you where the organization is. Segments tell you why. Slice the heatmap by any attribute, filter it down, and save the views you’ll come back to.

Before you start

You need the admin role and a survey with results. Segments come from the attributes on your participant file — department, location, tenure, whatever you loaded. See Set up attributes and hierarchies.

Segment the heatmap

1. Open the survey’s Results and select Segment By.
2. Pick one or more attributes. The heatmap redraws with a row for every combination of the values you chose.

Two attributes at once — say, department by tenure — is often where the story shows up. Segments smaller than the response-count threshold stay hidden to protect confidentiality; see Read the heatmap.

Filter to a slice

1. Select Filter.
2. Choose attribute values to keep — for example, only the EMEA region, or only individual contributors.
3. The heatmap now scores just that population. Active filters show as badges on the button.

Segment answers “compare these groups.” Filter answers “show me only this group.” They combine.

Save a view

Rebuilt the same slice three meetings in a row? Save it.

1. With your segments and filters applied, open Saved Views.
2. Select Save Current View and name it — “Engineering by tenure,” “EMEA managers.”
3. Reload it any time from the same menu. Hover a saved view to edit or delete it.

Saved views are shortcuts to a configuration, not snapshots — they always show current data.

A useful habit

Save one view per audience before the readout cycle starts: one for the executive summary, one per division leader. You’ll walk into every debrief one click from the right picture. To share results without granting full admin access, see Give an analyst limited survey access.
