Segment, filter, and save views

The overall PSindex® score tells you where the organization is. Segments tell you why. Slice the heatmap by any attribute, filter it down, and bookmark the views you’ll come back to.

Before you start

You need the admin role and a survey with results. Segments come from the attributes on your participant file: department, location, tenure, whatever you loaded. See Set up attributes and hierarchies.

Group the heatmap

1. Open the survey’s results and select Group results by.
2. Pick one or more attributes. The heatmap redraws with a row for every combination of the values you chose.

Two attributes at once, say department by tenure, is often where the story shows up. Groups smaller than the response-count threshold stay hidden to protect confidentiality. See Read the heatmap.

Filter to a slice

1. Select an attribute from the filter controls above the heatmap.
2. Choose the values to keep, for example only the EMEA region, or only individual contributors.
3. The heatmap now scores just that population. Each active filter shows as a chip reading {attribute} is any of, and Clear all removes them in one action.

Grouping answers “compare these groups.” Filtering answers “show me only this group.” They combine.

Bookmark a view

Rebuilt the same slice three meetings in a row? Save it.

1. With your grouping and filters applied, select ＋ Bookmark this.
2. Enter a Bookmark Name, something like “Engineering by tenure” or “EMEA managers”, and select Save Bookmark.
3. Reload it any time from the bookmark list beneath the toolbar. Each bookmark offers Edit Bookmark to rename it and Delete this bookmark to remove it.

Bookmarks are shortcuts to a configuration, not snapshots. They always show current data.

A useful habit

Bookmark one view per audience before the readout cycle starts: one for the executive summary, one per division leader. You’ll walk into every debrief one click from the right picture. To share results without granting full admin access, see Share survey results.
