Extend or reopen a closed survey

Push the close date on a live PSindex survey, or reopen a closed one for new participants only or everyone incomplete.

Sometimes the window is too short. A live PSindex® survey can be extended by moving its end date, and a closed survey can be reopened — with control over who gets emailed.

Before you start

You need the admin role. Both actions live in the survey’s Settings tab, in the Survey Ends field.

Extend a survey that’s still open

  1. Open the survey and go to Settings.
  2. Change Survey Ends to the new date and time. Invitations close at that moment.
  3. Save. Automatic reminders keep running on their interval until the new close.

Extending doesn’t email anyone by itself. If you want incomplete participants to know they have more time, follow up with a bulk reminder — see Send reminders.

Reopen a closed survey

When a survey has closed, setting Survey Ends to a future date reveals the Reopen Survey choice. Pick one of two modes:

  • Partially open — send invitations and reminders only to participants you’ve newly added. Everyone already invited hears nothing. Use this when a team or acquisition was missed and the rest of the org is done.
  • Fully open — resend invitations to every participant who has not completed the survey. Use this when participation fell short and you want one more real push.
  1. In Settings, move Survey Ends to a future date.
  2. Choose Partially open or Fully open.
  3. Save. If you’re adding people, upload them first — see Prepare and upload your participant CSV.

Completed responses are never touched in either mode. Nobody who finished is re-invited.

Keep the window honest

Extend once, communicate the new deadline, and let it close. Repeated extensions train people that deadlines are suggestions — and your response pattern gets harder to compare across surveys. Track the effect of the reopen in See who has completed your survey.
